I’m convinced that calm kitchens make for calmer I’m convinced that calm kitchens make for calmer mornings. This one was designed for a family who wanted beauty and practicality because life truly happens around this island. From coffee spills to chefs specials, it needed to stand up to real life and look timeless doing it.

We used natural white oak cabinetry for warmth, integrated appliances for a seamless flow, and a soft quartz surface that can handle just about anything. The fluted island adds texture, the layered lighting keeps it cozy, and every line feels thoughtful.

A modern kitchen design that’s warm, grounded, and quietly sophisticated.

After years of helping clients fall in love with t After years of helping clients fall in love with their homes, one thing I know for sure - the best spaces are the ones tailored to you in every way.

Maybe your home feels a little off right now, not as calm or connected as you would like. That’s usually the first sign it’s time for a change.

Through our design process, every detail is considered with you in mind - how you live, what you love, and what makes home feel good to you. I’ve seen how the right design can completely change the way you live, how it brings ease, comfort, and a quiet kind of joy to everyday life, and that’s exactly what I want for clients.

When Jayne told me she dreamed of a kitchen where When Jayne told me she dreamed of a kitchen where her family could cook, gather, and actually enjoy being together, I knew exactly what she meant. We designed a layout that brought everyone into the same space — more light, more flow, more connection.

The island is now where the kids help prep dinner, the bar doubles as a morning coffee spot, and the soft brass details make it feel warm and lived-in. This modern kitchen design is proof that beauty and function can (and should) live side by side.

Ever dream of having a home bar but think you don’t have the space? The truth is, it doesn’t need to be big to feel special. In this Lawrence Park home, we turned a small corner into a feature worth showing off — oak cabinetry, wire mesh doors, and warm brass accents that tie perfectly into the living room.

Good design is about intention and even the smallest nook can become your favourite part of the home when every detail is thoughtfully layered.

When I’m designing an open-concept home, it’s When I’m designing an open-concept home, it’s all about flow. The kitchen, dining, and living spaces should feel connected but distinct.

Here, natural textures and subtle contrast were used — matte cabinetry, marble veining, and a concrete ceiling — to tie everything together. The result is a space that transitions seamlessly from cooking to conversation.

My favorite tip for open-concept living: let materials be your boundaries. They create definition without closing anything off, so your home feels both functional and free.

Let’s talk kitchen design details that actually Let’s talk kitchen design details that actually make your daily life easier. Under the sink, most people default to cabinets, but drawers are a total game-changer. Sure, this system requires some clever planning around plumbing but the payoff is huge: better access, smarter storage, and a cleaner look.

I’ve used this approach in almost every kitchen I’ve designed lately, and once clients experience it, they never go back. It’s one of those small design decisions that makes a big difference.
